I am so excited to share this post with you today! I have been working on an Astronaut Inspired room for my son and it has been such a fun project! He is over the moon (pun intended lol) with the results! We are so grateful to work with Walmart and Drew Barrymore’s new Flower Kids Line for this makeover. *This post is sponsored by Walmart, all product selections and opinions are my own.

My son Truman is 10, we moved into this home when he was 5 and I had done very little to his room since we moved in. He was long overdue for a makeover but he’s also at a hard age. He doesn’t play with many toys anymore (chokes back sobs), slowly the toys are being replaced with basketballs and video games. But! He’s still a little boy! He has an amazing imagination and I wanted his room to encourage that. As Albert Einstein said “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.”

I wanted Tru to help me pick pieces that he loved for his room. This Astro boy galaxy art was the inspiration for the makeover. When it was delivered he was so excited! I pointed out little details that I hadn’t even noticed, like the fact that the Astronaut is holding a snow cone ❤️! It is the perfect piece to capture his imagination!

We continued the Galaxy theme with more art from the Flower kids line, I love the Solar Orbit and Star Map Porthole Art. The Jungle Tiger lamp added a pop of color to the corner.

How cute is this whimsical Alligator pillow??!

The Geometric peel and stick wallpaper created the perfect backdrop for this little gallery wall. I chose the Phases of the moon and An-Atom-y Of an Atom art to pair with Trumans very own abstract painting. He had the most amazing and wonderful preschool teacher, she gave them an artist to study (I think he had Picasso?) and had them paint their own painting. Then they had their own gallery show to show off their masterpieces to their families ❤️! He still cherishes this painting all of these years later and I was so happy to be able to incorporate it into his bedroom design.

This little corner is his favorite spot!

I let Truman help pick the rug, he loved this Rainbow area rug! It’s super soft and plush and of course colorful!

We had so much fun doing this makeover! I hope you enjoyed it! Thank you for letting us share his Astronaut inspired room with you! Make sure you check out the rest of Drew Barrymore’s Flower kids line, She has the cutest girl stuff as well! If only I had a little girl, I would have loved to do another makeover using more of her items! You can scroll through some of my favorites below. What was your favorite part? I’d love to hear in the comments!
Thanks for stopping by!

I love how his room turned out! It’s the perfect way to transition the space into his current phase of life.
My favorite part is how you integrated his own artwork and the pops of color to make the room modern & fun, while still tying the space into your home.
Great work as always!!
Thank you so much for your support Mallory! He loves how his room turned out and it’s so fun to add a bit of color to our otherwise neutral home 🙂
