I can’t believe Christmas is only 5 days away!! I couldn’t let the season pass without sharing the most beautiful home I’ve ever decked for the Holidays! Late this fall I got a call from my dear friend Sita Montgomery asking if I would be interested in installing Christmas decor in a home that she had designed earlier in the year. It just happened to be one of my favorite projects of hers to date! I had stopped by for a little peek when she was doing the install this past January and I fell in love with the casual, elegant design of this coastal inspired home. I hadn’t planned on taking on any projects that late in the year but I couldn’t pass on the opportunity to decorate this lovely home for the Holidays. Then I met her client and she is literally THE sweetest person and I couldn’t wait to help her achieve the Christmas of her dreams!
The palette of the home is blue and silver and white with warm wood accents. I decided to carry that theme into her Christmas decor while keeping it simple and elegant to match the style of the home. I hope you enjoy this tour, I loved working with this client and on this beautiful home!
This is actually the first artificial tree the family has purchased, I wanted to make sure it would be a tree that would last. I love the look and feel of this flocked tree! You can find it HERE.
I always use at least two types of ribbon on my trees, on this tree I used a blue and green plaid and a tan ribbon with silver glittery dots. The ornaments are a mix of silver, pewter, cream, and shades of blue. Then I added sprigs of blueberry branches and eucalyptus as fillers. I have a step by step tutorial on how I decorate my trees HERE if you would like more tree decorating tips.
We ordered several of these gorgeous garlands for the mantle and the entry table, they look so realistic you almost have to touch them to believe they aren’t fresh.
To continue the simple and elegant theme on the mantle, I simply tied satin bows and tucked in a few white berry stems. The garland is attached to the mantle with command hooks.
I am smitten with everything about this staircase! I really wanted the look of fresh garland to highlight the beauty of the woodwork. Fresh garland isn’t always the most realistic option with kids and dogs in the home so I layered a few different types of garlands to achieve the look I was going for. I then used the same satin ribbon I used on the mantle and added blue velvet ribbon.
Can you believe this garland isn’t real?? (these particular garlands were purchased at Taipan trading in Logan Ut)
One more glimpse of this beautiful staircase, I can just imagine their kids running down the stairs on Christmas morning!
