Modern Cottage Kitchen
Modern Cottage kitchen– I am so excited to share with you our Lake House Kitchen! I designed my entire home with one thing in mind for this kitchen! My Ilve range! It took me a year to convince my husband it was worth spending the money on for a second home, and we had a lot of issues after we ordered it, but now that it’s installed and we’ve been using it I have zero regrets!!

The stove is the center piece and heart of our kitchen. I opted to keep that wall free of upper cabinets and kept the range and the hood the focal point. A simple wreath adds a touch a Christmas and accents the backsplash.

Mini black galvanized houses and faux cedar garland were also added for a scandinavian feel.

I love the view from this kitchen window! I wish we had fresh snow when I took my photos, of course it snowed a few days after I came home!

We opted for a round table just off the kitchen, it’s perfect for gaming when our kids come up with us. I found the cutest plates adorned with deer. They are so fitting because we have a family of deer that lives in our yard! It has been so fun to watch the babies with their mom every time we visit.

Elegant Southern inspired Kitchen
Elegant Southern inspired Kitchen– Welcome to our kitchen at home! I can easily say this is my favorite Christmas kitchen since we’ve been in this home! You can see previous tours HERE, HERE, and HERE. This year I decided to use magnolia leaves and citrus accents, it feels so fresh and cheery! I love it!
This Christmas tree adorned with dried orange slices and bay leaves is a first this year, I don’t know if I can go back to not having a tree in here every year!

I love using fresh winter greens in my kitchen arrangements, however this year I wasn’t able to make it into the florists so I used what I had in my arsenal of Christmas stems. The mixture of faux greenery, magnolia stems and dried oranges looks like a fresh arrangement but is so low maintenance! I used this Urn in my living room last year (you can see that tour HERE). I kept the living room decor pretty much the same this year so I decided to pull this into the kitchen to incorporate the hues of blue in here. A small marble tray with an arrangement, candle and bottle brush tree is a great way to add decor to the island without taking up too much space.

I decided to treat our range hood as a “mantle” this year by adding a magnolia garland, a small framed art piece and a cute little brass deer. I finished the look by added more dried oranges and tied blue velvet ribbon at either end.

I used small ceramic christmas village houses throughout the kitchen. I try to incorporate these into my Christmas decor every year. It’s fun to find new ways to use them each year! This year I would have used them on my kitchen tree if they weren’t already on the counters. I’ll have to remember that next year!

The rug above isn’t necessarily a Christmas rug, we actually ordered it by mistake but this is what I would call a “happy accident”! The colors are muted but beautiful! I love how it has just a hint of blue!
I added a little hot cocoa station and it’s been fun to have a Keurig! Our youngest loves to brew himself a little cup when he gets home from school on a cold day.

Last but not least, one of the reasons I decided to go with a citrus theme. I bought a little lime tree this past summer! It can go on the deck in the summer but has to spend winter indoors with plenty of sunlight. This corner is perfect for it! I brought this ceramic bust out from another room and added a bowl of oranges and now it’s the cheeriest corner!

Thank you so much for stopping by!! If you see something you love feel free to Pin it! I’d love to hear what your favorite was? Which kitchen do you prefer??
The inspiration doesn’t stop here, please head to see Rebekahs kitchen at A Blissful Nest I look forward to her tour every year and it definitely didn’t disappoint this year!

XOXO, JEN
