When I think about the Holidays, I think of snowy days, warm fires, the glow of the Christmas tree, and of course baking our favorite Christmas goodies. We have a few treats that our neighbors ask for every year, I swear I’ll get hate mail if I don’t pass them out lol! I am going to share them with you today, but beware, if you pass them out you may be expected to make them every year!
We can’t have Christmas unless we have my moms Plum cake, my grandmothers bon bons, and the favorite neighborhood treats buckeyes!
Plum cake is a dense moist cake with spices such as nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon it smells like Christmas to me! I am so grateful to have memories of my mom baking it for us every Christmas, I love that it’s a tradition in my own family now.
