I am hoping you are joining me from the readers Holiday house walk link party with Jennifer Rizzo Design Company!
Welcome to my home! For my very first blog post I am doing a Christmas home tour. I can’t think of a better way to start a blog! I love Christmas, my mom was always such a fan of Christmas and it brings back so many memories of her when I decorate. Not to mention celebrating the birth of our Savior. It’s such a special time of year, it brings out the good in everyone. I hope you enjoy my home tour!
That’s the entry way, lets head into the Great room

This is my favorite new addition. Made from a $30 mirror, painted with chalkboard paint and vinyl lettering by my friend Tonya

I used fresh greenery on in simple vases on the table. I wanted to use birch vases, but I didn’t have any. I did have birch wrapping paper from pier one though! wrapped around the vases you would never know.

On each plate I used these ornaments that were buy 2 get one free @target, tied with twine and a piece of greens. We can use the ornaments on the tree next yr.
Can’t forget the tree!
I added a piece of greenery and some ornaments to this mercury glass box for a little Christmas cheer in the Master.
Even the master bath gets a little bit of Christmas, with glitter twigs in a glass jar. There’s a little Christmas tree in this hutch that serves as our storage in the mater bath
The Laundry was spruced up with dollar store wreaths, left over ribbon and a mini pine tree, for a ten minute makeover for $10
The tree in our front room has a special place in my heart because my mom helped me start collecting these ornaments. When she passed away I was able to receive a lot of her decor, including these Fitz and Floyd ornaments.
Upstairs the boys have a little desk area with a tree and this cute little download from www.craftberrybush.com. They also have some fun décor in their bathroom.
now on to the basement
We have had the ornaments on this tree for yrs, it has sort of a woodland vintage feel. My favorite ornament on the tree (besides my kids baby’s first Christmas ornaments) are little vintage postcards mounted on glass, the light shines through them making them feel magical.
I made these little plaid pillows out of old shirts. I just kept the side seams, and sewed a straight line on the top and bottom, keeping the buttons so I didn’t have to hand stitch them closed. It took me 2o minutes total (including machine set up!) that was my second ever project with my sewing machine!
For the last stop on my post we have my daughters room with just a simple white tree. Because sometimes, less is more 🙂 she also has this Letter that lights up that we picked up at a flea market on a trip to Texas. I put a little sign in front of it that says “Believe” she may be almost 15 but she’s still my little girl!
Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully my blog will be a little more professional next time you’re here, I have a new respect for bloggers! I think I need to go to blogging school! Merry Christmas!
Until next time,
Jen

This is an area just off the theater room for the kids. There is a kitchenette and a game area behind.

I pulled this red chair out of the garage. I normally keep this room pretty neutral so I can easily change during seasons.

My son says this horse has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas. I said sure it does, he’s wearing a scarf. Lol!

This is a fun little space on the wall. We have so two sets of French doors leading outside and all of those windows so this is the only wall space I have.

We have 10′ ceilings in the basement and a lot of tall windows. I love having the tree reflect light off the windows.

Jenny Thank you so much! that’s exactly what I needed to hear, sometimes I don’t know when to stop 🙂
Your house was lovely. I’m new to blogging too. And I agree some make it look so easy. My blog has been live since Thanksgiving day. Maybe we could bounce ideas off each other some time. I’m house #4.
Thanks,
Jennifer Ely
Jennifer, I will have to go over and check out your home! I really thought setting up my blog would have been a little easier. I don’t think I’ll be able to give it that professional look I would like to have, I may have to hire someone. I would love to bounce any ideas off each other. I really don’t know anyone closely that does any of this!
