In honor of Valentines day next week, I thought I’d share how we celebrate and also share some last minute gift ideas. Valentine’s day for me is all about making cards and treat bags for each one of my four kids classmates, plus a box to hold all of the Valentine’s. Call me crazy, but there’s really nothing romantic about worrying about whether or not you picked a valentine box on Pinterest that no one else is recreating! Once I’m done with all of the boxes and treats, there’s little energy left over. I guess I can’t say I’m a romantic at heart because I’d rather shovel snow, or clean bathrooms (and I really hate to clean) than go to a restaurant on Valentine’s day with 80 million other people!
So how do we celebrate Valentine’s day?
I show my love in simple ways, we always have a small gift and a card for our kids when they wake up on Valentine’s morning. I want them to know we love them and that’s what matters most!
I try to make something special for breakfast, it’s a little harder now that they all attend different schools and leave at different times. I’ll probably whip up something easy like these heart shaped pancakes over the weekend (because most likely I’ll be up all night the night before V day making boxes!).
I’m impressing you with my romantics right?? We save date night for whatever night will be the least busy the week of Valentine’s (can you say anti social? Lol)

I don’t even know what I’m trying to do in these pics? I’m supposed to by trying to give you an idea of what I’ll be wearing when we finally do go out 😉 I love the Origami shirt shown above, I have worn it once and had a lot of compliments on it. The dress and shoes are new favorites in my wardrobe, the shoes are surprisingly comfortable. I love them so much I bought them in two colors! (you can shop them in the affiliate links below)
I put together a few last minute gift guides for him and for her if you still need something for that special someone in your life.
