Welcome to the Decked + Styled Spring tour, if you are just joining from Sarah Life on Virginia Street I’m happy to have you here! Isn’t Sarah’s home amazing? She is the sweetest person, I met her at a blogging conference a few years ago before I even had my blog and she was so kind and genuine! I’d also like to thank Bree Z Design at Home for putting this tour together. I love this tour because after Christmas I tend to feel a little blah about my home. After I finish prepping for this tour I always feel refreshed and ready for the new season! I’m excited to show you what I did to welcome spring to my home! *this post contains affiliate links*
The first thing I did to get ready for the change of season was to add a new wreath to my front door, I couldn’t find just the right wreath, so I ended up making one, you can find the tutorial in my post DIY Modern Faux Succulent Wreath. I also included links to my favorite wreaths for spring (because wouldn’t you know it, I found several wreaths I love after I made mine!)
This wreath is perfect because it will take me through the next few seasons without making any changes. I tend to change things up around my home so often that it’s nice to be able to leave something up for longer than a month or two.
I didn’t do a lot in my entry way this year, I found a few vases I loved and added some of my favorite faux stems I’ve collected through the years. I also added some fresh daffodils, they were only $2.50 for a bundle at the grocery store they’re beautiful and they are so fragrant!
You can find the vases Here, or shop the slider below.
The biggest changes I made this spring were to my bedroom, I had a lot of fun working with Serena and Lily on some fun updates to my bedding. Aside from the bedding, I also found a rug that I LOVE you can find it Here. Then I added new lamps and some art. I found the most amazing vintage botanical prints and wanted to incorporate them, they were a little small (5″x7″) so I purchased larger frames (16″x20″) and had mats cut at Hobby Lobby. You can get the same look with these frames.

I’ll be sharing a few photos of this room but you can find more details of this space in my post 5 Steps to making a bed thats both beautiful and functional .
The nightstands are another addition that helped update the space, they are more transitional than the previous nightstands and are better suited for the new look.
I found these fun flowers at Costco, aren’t they gorgeous?? The spiky orange ones are called “Pin cushion” they seem to have a long life, but I will be sad when they are gone!
We actually ended up moving our settee from our home office into our bedroom because my husband wasn’t happy about the fact that I removed our chairs. I didn’t snap a photo of it so I’ll have to share more on that later.
Moving out to the main area of our home,
I switched out the arm chairs we had for the slipper chairs that are sometimes pictured at the foot of our bed. They aren’t exactly the style I would prefer in here but I like the scale of them better than the arm chairs. I’ll watching for some new chairs that catch my eye (don’t tell my husband ?).
My sofa got a little facelift with the addition of some new pillows, I love the texture on texture and the light sea foam color carries over from my bedroom.

I’m loving my faux ferns this year, the one shown in the tray above was a Homegoods find, you can find the other fern pictured here. The fiddle fig is real and I honestly don’t know how I’ve managed to keep it alive for so long?! I am embarrassed to say I haven’t even repotted it, it’s still in the plastic container it came home in 3 years ago ?. I found this planter and had plans to finally give it a larger home so it can spread it’s roots but I’m afraid it will freak out on me when I repot it ?, so for now it’s sitting in the fabulous planter in it’s original digs and it seems happy enough.
I found these marble pedestal trays and they were the perfect fit for my table centerpiece! I picked up a bundle of hydrangeas and added them to this vase. The hydrangeas in the family room are faux hydrangeas but you have to look closely to be able to tell the difference. Incorporating hydrangeas in both spaces helps give a continuous feel.

I added 3 small pots with artificial herbs to our buffet, this spot tends to be a catch all when we come home, but I try to keep it as clutter free as possible.
In the kitchen I simply added a mixture of real and faux greens, I have a large collection of white serving dishes so I try to find different ways to incorporate them into my decor.
It was my husbands birthday this week so I snapped a few photos before we ate cake and ice cream. I actually had plans to make him a special cake, he doesn’t really care much for desserts but he’s a sucker for Reese’s peanut butter cups. I attempted to make him a Reese’s cake roll, it was pretty much a disaster, like my biggest Pinterest fail ever ? ? ?! That left me scrambling to the store to pick up a cake, the cake I found happened to be darling which is a plus since it ended up in this tour! The girls gasped when I pulled the ice cream out of the freezer that was pre scooped in this darling dish so I call that a win (they aren’t easily impressed in their late teen years ??). I scooped the ice cream into balls when it was still a little soft from the trip home from the store. I just popped the bowl back in the freezer until we were ready to serve it and it was a breeze!
Finishing out my tour, I added a new rug to our kitchen, I picked this one up at Homegoods and next to the rug in my bedroom it’s my favorite! I tried so hard to find somewhere online to share with you but alas, it is no where to be found. This rug is the closest I could find to mine.
