I am so excited to be joining with a fabulous group of bloggers to bring you 12 days of Holiday homes! Thank you Lynch Creek Farms for sponsoring this post, and 11 Magnolia Lane and Evolution of style for hosting the tour! If you are just joining me from Kellyelko.com, welcome to my home! I joined Magnolia lane last year for their tour and I have made so many changes to my home since then! **this post contains affiliate links***
The photo above is actually from the Christmas 2015 tour (you can see that HERE), I didn’t do much with my porch this year and I love this photo so much I thought I’d throw it in again. I have been making a few updates (while my house is currently on the market, crazy I know). With everything I’ve had going on, plus adding my client Christmas decor into the mix, I ran out of steam. I didn’t to half as much with my Christmas decor as I have in years past, I’m not disappointed at all though! Step inside and lets take a look around!
This year I chose to use fresh garland from our sponsor Lynch Creek Farms this is their premium garland, it is stunning! I added a little seeded eucalyptus and some ribbon to create a simple yet elegant look, plus my house smells AMAZING!
I switched things up quite a bit over last years look by keeping it light and white. The fur throw adds some warmth to the space and the feather trees soften things up a bit. The mirror was borrowed from the office and the candlesticks are from last years table setting. I created the floral arrangement using floral picks from the mantle last year and adding them to my ginger jar. By shopping my home a little I was able to completely change my look without purchasing anything new.
I love that you can see the refection of the Christmas tree in the mirror, it gives the illusion of more Christmas lights since I don’t have any on the railing this year.
Now on to our home office, I really didn’t change anything in here this year, other than adding the print I made a few years ago using a download from Dear Lillie. The ceilings are quite tall in this room, making our 10′ tree seem tiny, in reality this room is pretty small and the tree takes up half the room!
If you look closely, you can see I used sections of metallic print fabric in the tree in addition to the ribbon, you can see a tutorial I created last year on how I decorated this tree HERE.
My family room is where most of the changes have been made, I can’t wait to show you!
Painting the built ins white allowed me to go a bit more bold with my color scheme, and the room feels so much brighter and bigger! You can find the art created for me by the enormously talented Christie Adelle HERE. It’s such a beautiful piece I wanted my Christmas decor to compliment it, so I used non traditional colors of teal and gold.
The furniture arrangement is temporary because we are still waiting on our new sofa to arrive. I don’t mind this set up at all since our tree from The King of Christmas is so huge! You can find this 10′ flocked LED tree HERE.
I kept the Mantle simple, using a pre lit flocked garland and gold christmas balls in varying sizes.
Try using simple items in your decor like a wrapped gift, or a bowl filled with ornaments.
I like to look outside the Christmas isle for items to use on my tree, the sunburst mirrors you see came in a set of 3 for only $12 at At Home! That means they were less expensive than almost any of the other ornaments on my tree!
I love the little white ceramic houses I found at At home for my centerpiece. They add a touch of whimsy to the table setting.
Heading into the kitchen, this is where I really kept it simple this year.
I added the same Christmas village to our range hood, they are darling all lit up at night.
I am always trying to think of other ways I can use my Christmas decor, I already have a plan for this little village next year! It’s going to be so fun!
I added some cloves to oranges and put them in a bowl. It was something my mom used to do, it makes the kitchen smell amazing!
That’s pretty much all I did in the kitchen this year. It may not seem like it, but I am really trying to simplify at Christmas time. I’m trying really hard to enjoy the season and spend time with my family, after all that’s what its all about.
I realized too late in the day that I forgot to snap pics of my bedroom, I have a few photos from another tutorial I did on 5 steps to create a beautiful tree. I’ll try to update this post with more photos later.
I hope you enjoyed the tour, a lot of work goes into decorating, photographing and editing to create these tours (not to mention trying to keep the house clean with a family of 7) I can’t tell you how much it means to me to have you stop by for a visit! *Disclaimer, what you are seeing is a much cleaner and perfected version of how this house really is. Our home is very lived in and only looks like this long enough to photograph it 😉 the rest of the time it is a home to a busy family!

I can barely get past the extreme cuteness of the little guy on the front porch with his plaid shirt tail peeking out from under his sweater to appreciate all the gorgeous decorations!
Aww I feel the same way! He was such a sport to pose for me! I had to use the photo again 🙂 Thank you for stopping by!
It’s just divine, Jen! I love all of the colors you chose this year–so much goodness in one home! Thanks for sharing–Christy
Thank you Christy! Now that I can finally breathe (after I photograph my bedroom since I forgot) I get to enjoy the rest of the beautiful homes on the tour! Thanks for having me back! XO
this is just gorgeous! love the blue and gold- i always love that combo. but that black, gold, tan combo- well that wowed me! amazing!
Thanks Cassie, I struggled a but having zero traditional colors in my decor but it’s definitely grown on me! My Black and gold tree is my favorite! That’s why I didn’t change it one bit, I’d leave it up all year if I could 😉
OMG, your entire home is absolutely stunning! Elegantly beautiful!!!! I love both your magnificent tress, and though your photo of your front porch was from last year, I cannot blame you, not with that super cute model there! 😉 So honored to share this home tour with you! CHEERS!
Thank you so much! I love my little model! we need to recreate that photo this year because he’s missing his front teeth for Christmas this year 😉 now that I am done with the exhausting task of decorating and photographing I can enjoy the rest of the season and sit down and get caught up on everyone else’s tours, I can’t wait!
Love the changes and the fresh feel of your new white living room! The non-traditional colors feel so bright & merry, I think you’ve started a new trend! Thanks for sharing your home and for creating such a beautiful space to inspire others. Happy Holidays!
Thanks Mal, it’s been exhausting working on it all but now we can finally enjoy it! Plan on our traditional Christmas Eve get together!
It’s official – you are on Santa’s nice list! I love your bling filled home – that gold tree is a showstopper!
Lol, you made my day Kelly! Thank you! 🙂
Oh Jen, your Christmas decor is so breathtaking! That tree!! Wow! You really did such a fantastic job decorating it beautifully with just the right touches. I guess this is the first time that I’m seeing you painted your bookshelves (since they were dark). I love the white and did the same thing in my home. That white has made all of the difference for us and making the room feel lighter. It looks stunning in your great room! Thank you for sharing your festive and cheerful home with us Jen. Merry Christmas! 🙂
Thanks Cyndy! I agree, the white makes any room feel larger and lighter! Thank you so much for your support and comments 🙂 your tour is absolutely stunning, so much inspiration for me for next year! XO and Merry Christmas!
Jen, your home is absolutely gorgeous! I think my favorite room (if you forced me to choose) would be your office. I love the contrast of the walls and the gold accents in the tree and accessories. Simply stunning! How is your house still for sale in its beautified state?!? Thanks so much for joining in this year – I hope you’re able to relax a bit now that you have the decorating out of the way. 🙂
Thank you so so much Jenny! It was an honor for me to join the tour! I have to agree that my home office is my favorite too 🙂 I think the only reason my house is still for sell is because I don’t make it easy to get in to see it 😉 I have so many showings I’ve turned away because I have other things I am working on. I turned away a showing today lol! We really aren’t trying hard, but if it is meant to be it will sell 🙂 Thanks again for all your work in putting the tour together!
Your home is stunning Jen! Your tree is amazing and such a cutie on the front porch! Loved everything! Merry Christmas!
Thank you Becky! I think he’s definitely the best thing in the tour 😉 I’m happy you loved it! Hugs!
Jen, Your tour is breath taking!!! I love every detail!!! I adore all of the flocked trees and blue ribbons. I think the office might be my very fave of all!! Merry Christmas! xo
Thank you Amanda, that seems to be the consensus, the office is a fav! It’s my favorite too, I almost didn’t share since it’s basically unchanged from last year, I love it too much not to though. Thank you for your sweet compliments XO Jen
I LOVE your decorations! I have started decorating my home this year with the same intention- to simplify so I can enjoy the holidays with my family more. You have given me renewed resolve to stick to my plan! Thank you for sharing your home with us. It’s truly inspiring!
Thank you Katherine, I hope you do stick to your resolution and enjoy the season! I still feel like I did too much, next year I will plan it out a bit better so I can get a little decorating in and enjoy the entire season with my family 🙂 Thank you for visiting!
Everything is stunningly elegant. That Lynch Creek garland is a show stopper! Beautiful!!
Thank you Cindy, I wish you could smell the garland too 🙂 Thank you so much for stopping by to visit! XO Jen
Jen, your home is just spectacular!! I LOVE your updates, so sophisticated and elegant! That blue is out of this world and I’m just in love with al of it! Bravo!?
Thank you so much my friend! I scoured the internet for the right shade of blue to add to my decor this year, I finally found it at Micheals I am happy with the results 🙂 It makes me so happy that you love it! Hugs!
Wow, Jen!!! You completely nailed your Christmas decor. The most beautifully glam touches, fun pops of blue in the family room and your bedroom?! YESS!! Your home office shots stole my heart. The styling in front of the tree and that fur STOOL swept me off my feet! Excellent job! Merry Christmas to you and your family 😉 – Rachael
Thank you Rachael! My home office has my heart too! I’m happy you love it all, thank you so much for taking the time to let me know! Merry Christmas to you! XX Jen
Love all the bright white!! SO beautiful.
Thank you so much Julie!
Beautiful Christmas decorating! I just have one question: Where did you get the lovely “Prince of Peace” scripture in the gold frame? Did you make it yourself? Lovely!
Hi Candace, yes, I sort of did make it. I purchased the download from Dear Lillie (the link is in the post) then I had a friend enlarge it and print it in gold vinyl, I then added it to an inexpensive mirror I had painted with chalk paint. It turned out better than I could have imagined! It’s my all time favorite Christmas piece 🙂
Breathtaking Jen, as always! You have impeccable style, year round, however your holiday home is out of this world! Happy Holidays to you and your family! It was an honor to participate in this home tour with you and the other talented ladies!
Thank you Brenna your sweet comments are just what I needed to hear today 🙂 Merry Christmas XX
Please add me to your blog emails

Jen, your Home for the Holidays is breathtaking! The trees are glamorous and majestic setting the tone in your exquisite home. I must say that I loved your “disclaimer” about your home in “real life” … The garland is gorgeous… I will have to keep that in mind for next year!
Thank you so much Shirley! I feel like people should know what goes on when the camera isn’t out, it’s real life around here. But I’m not about to post a photo of the messes lol! Merry Christmas 🙂
You had me at that stunning entry! What a lovely home.
Thank you Lauren! Merry Christmas!
Jen, I’m completely smitten with your trees. They are insanely gorgeous!! Your family room with the gold and black…stunning. The blues in the foyer/hall…everything is PERFECT!!! Happy holidays to you guys!!
Wow thank you so much Heather! You are so sweet! Happy Holidays to you too! Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to comment 🙂
Jen – this tour is phenomenal! Each room is better than the last! Love love love the simple garland and love the little village about the range – what a great idea. Hope you are enjoying the holiday season!
Thank you so much Tricia! I don’t know about you, but the one room challenge kicked my butt this year! I didn’t have the energy to tap in to about 75% of my decor this year. Simplicity was key! I popped over for your tour, it looks amazing! I’m so in love with that space! Merry Christmas! XX
