Is Christmas your favorite holiday? It is without a doubt my favorite time of year! It’s the only holiday that I really go all out for. It’s an excuse to surround yourself with all things shiny, bright, and glittery. There’s nothing I love more than adding holiday cheer to our bedroom. I love the warm glow of the fire and twinkling lights of the tree as we are winding down on cold winter nights. Come take a look around my favorite space in my home. **Affiliate links found in this post**
Earlier this year we updated this room a little, I loved it before but I wanted it to be a little brighter and more elegant. You can follow that project HERE. I love our new space, even more so dressed for the Holidays, I wish I could keep it up all year!
I added some oversized fur pillows and an embellished snowflake pillow to the bed to warm it up, at the end of the bed I added a super soft cable knit throw. I will definitely be keeping the warm touches throughout the winter!

I picked up this wreath at Target last year, it’s the perfect addition to my winter decor in my bedroom.
I didn’t do anything else to my bedding other than adding the fur pillows and the snowflake pillow you can find some similar below
I added a few touches to the nightstands, I’ve had the snowy branches for years they are great to tuck in your decor, I also add them to my tree and sometimes garland. A glass bowl filled with ornaments is a simple and beautiful way to add a little sparkle.
I found a strand of lights in the target dollar spot that are little gold balls, they blend in with the ornaments and add some glow to this corner.
On the other side nightstand I used the same snowy branches and added a little angel sitting on a candle stick. Using a candle stick is a trick to add height to your decor, or highlight an item. I also use a lot of decorative candles in my decor, once they are burned they make great mini planters, or you can add a little votive candle.
I added mini wreaths to our sliding barn doors (from Artisan Hardware) I wonder if it would be acceptable to keep them up all year?!
Now lets take a look at my favorite corner of our room!
This is hands down my favorite tree in my home! You can read more about this tree in my post on 5 steps to creating a beautiful tree.
I bought some of the Sugar paper gift boxes from Target last year, they come in blush this year too! I love this peacock, I found it at one of my favorite local stores several years ago and it was on my tree for years. I love to add something unexpected to my decor!
I borrowed this mirror from another room, any time you can add a mirror near your tree you should do it! It reflects the glow of the lights on your tree, although I did have to hurry and add decor to the backside of the tree ;)!
I added these little bottle brush trees on a mercury stand, I did a little DIY to these trees so they would match my decor, it was so simple and I love the end product so much I thought I’d share it with you!
I started with a few bottle brush trees like this that I hadn’t used in a few years
With all of my flocked trees and gold decor they felt a little out of place. I also had a silver glittery tree that I felt was too cool to match my decor. I knew if they were gold they’d match perfectly and I had an idea!
I had some gold spray paint in my garage, I put the trees in a box and sprayed a little gold on them. I wanted to keep the glittery look so right after I sprayed the tree I sprinkled a little gold glitter I found in my craft supplies! The glitter will stick to the tree while the paint is still wet. Voila! In under 1 minute I have elegant little gold trees to match my decor. This trick will work for any color, if I had some pink paint I would have done that and added gold glitter for a rose gold look! I do think it would be prettiest with metallic paints but you can really get creative and try anything! I think an ombre tree would be AMAZING!
Bottle brush trees are so inexpensive, the possibilities are endless with this fun tip!
